Bryant went on a rant in practice against his teammates Thursday, coincidentally right after the Lakers let the media in for the last five minutes of practice.
According to numerous media reports including ESPN, Bryant screamed at the team–telling them.
“You m—–f—— are soft like Charmin in this m—–f—–. God damn, is this the type of s— that’s going on in these practices? Now I see why we’ve lost 20 f—ing games. We’re soft like Charmin. We’re soft like s—.”
Byant also directed his tirades at individual players, telling Lin “This m—–f—– don’t got s—. He ain’t got s— right now. Shoot! Shoot!” When Lin shot and missed, Bryant taunted him some more. “I talked his ass right into that bulls—. I talked his ass right into that bulls—.”
After practice, Nick Young took Lin and Filipino American point guard Jordan Clarkson aside and told them not to allow Bryant to walk all over them.
Bryant, it seems, wants to inject some attitude into the Lakers. When Young traded barbs with Bryant earlier in the scrimmage, Bryant responded “You’re going exactly where I want you to go.”
Someone needs to tell Bryant its going to take a lot more than attitude to turn the Lakers season around. When your top scorer, Bryant, is shooting just 39 percent from the field, that’s a lot of missed shots.
Bryant needs to realize he’s not the same player he used to be and needs to get his teammates involved.
Lin has taken the passive aggressive approached, implying Kobe needs to share the ball. Problem is he’s not saying it to Kobe directly. He’s saying it to the media.
