The father of slain New York Police Officer Wenjian Liu remembers his only son as a kind man who looked after both strangers and his family.
shared his memories of Wenjian with Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. A video tape of that conversation was obtained by the“He saw the elderly woman unable to walk across, so my son went to help her, Liu, 63, said. He came back to his friend and his friend said, ‘Oh, how come you’re so nice?’ And he said, ‘I’m supposed to do this.’ ”
He recalls his son once stopping a man who appeared to be driving around aimlessly, then buying him a hamburger before escorting him home.
He also used to offer to help his dad out at the factory where he worked.
