NY Daily News: Dad of Murdered NY Officer Liu Recalls Son’s Kindness

Wenjian LiuThe father of slain New York Police Officer Wenjian Liu remembers his only son as a kind man who looked after both strangers and his family.

Wei Tang Liu shared his memories of Wenjian with  Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. A video tape of that conversation was obtained by the NY Daily News.

“He saw the elderly woman unable to walk across, so my son went to help her, Liu, 63, said. He came back to his friend and his friend said, ‘Oh, how come you’re so nice?’ And he said, ‘I’m supposed to do this.’ ”

He recalls his son once stopping a man who appeared to be driving around aimlessly, then buying him a hamburger before escorting him home.

He also used to offer to help his dad out at the factory where he worked.

You can read about Adams unique and generous offer to the Liu family in the NY Daily News.
