Former Super Bowl MVP and Dancing With the Stars champ Hines Ward will be part of the NBC broadcast team during six hours of Super Bowl pregame coverage Sunday.
Ward whose mother is Korean American and father is African American appeared in the Meredith Vieira Show.
In response to a question about gays in the locker room, he talked about his own experience being biracial.
“For me being biracial, I get teased all the time,” said Ward. “You have to have thick skin. I’m called Bruce Leeroy, Jackie Chan, stuff like that in the locker room, but its all in, that’s what the locker room is all about. It’s just their ignorance about not knowing what a biracial person is all about.”
