Examiner.com: White Power Sign Held Up at Texas Basketball Game

white power signsPlano East High School in Texas boasts a student body that’s 48 percent white,  21.6 percent Hispanic, 15.3 percent Asian American/Pacific Islander, 14.6 percent African American and 0.5 percent Native American.

So when students from less diverse Flower Mound High School held up adjacent but separate white and  power signs during a basketball game, the message stinged and set off a social media firestorm, reports Examiner.com.

Witnesses say school officials ordered the signs taken down within 30 seconds, but not before someone snapped a picture and later posted it on social media–setting off a firestorm.

Flower Mound basketball coach Eric Littleton called the incident “unacceptable.” District Superintendent Dr. Kevin Rogers described himself as “disheartened.”

Some have said this whole incident is being misinterpreted and its a big misunderstanding? What do you think?
