We Got This Covered: Ktown Cowboys is Bro-bonding in Koreatown

Ktown CowboysThe web series Ktown Cowboys made its world premiere as a film at SXSW Sunday night, reports We Got This Covered.

The movie is described by reviewer Matt Donato as a Korean version of Entourage, the HBO comedy about life in Los Angeles from the viewpoint of a Hollywood agent.

It follows five Korean Americans on a birthday celebration. Each has their own internal struggles which are all resolved in the film. There’s Sunny (Sunn Wee) who runs his father’s liquor store, Danny (Danny Cho) as a struggling comedian,  Peter (Peter Jae) who plays the ladies man,  Robby (Bobby Choy), an adopted Korean and Jason (Shane Yoon) who heads his Uncle’s company.

It is produced by comedian Ken Jeong who makes a cameo.

Donato gives it an overall positive review, but criticizes the film for appearing more like an extended TV show than a movie.
