Research conducted by Nielsen Games has found while Asian Americans are more likely to play video games, they are less likely to see themselves depicted in these games, reports Bloomberg:.
49 percent of Asian Americans surveyed disagreed with the statement ““All races have ample representation/inclusion in video-game characters.” That’s more than twice the number of African Americans, Hispanics and Whites.
According to Nielsen, this is a wake up call to the video game industry to market better to an important consumer segment.
