The brouhaha over the naming of Trevor Noah as the new host of The Daily Show has spawned a new push–the naming of comedian Kristina Wong as the show’s correspondent.
The Offing pushed the idea forward in an open letter to Comedy Central.
The criticism of Noah picked up momentum after past bits by Noah surfaced showing him joking about Thai hookers, Asian accents, Jewish money and “fat chicks” .
Wong followed that by tweeting a suggestion to Noah that she could be the answer to his problem.
.@Trevornoah it's ok babe, we all bomb. Hire me as a #DailyShow correspondent and I'll get your Asian and women jokes into 2015. #TrevorNoah

In its letter the The Offing described Wong as “the fierce, formidably smart third-generation Chinese-American woman (who) has been fearlessly, hilariously writing and performing about issues of race, gender, and politics for years.”
