Chinese superstitions enters the picture in Tuesday night’s episode of Fresh Off The Boat.
Jessica (Constance Wu) gets back on the saddle with her real estate aspirations when she sells a home, only to be sidetracked again when she realizes the address is 44 West 44th Street. The number 4 is considered bad luck in Chinese culture. Her imagination gets the best of her as she is certain bad luck will be heading her way.
Eddie (Hudson Yang) is talked into running for school president by his counselor and goes up against a boy named Trent (Trevor Larcom) who happens to be the nephew of former NBA champion Scottie Pippen. The former Chicago Bull appears as himself. Scottie helps Trent campaign, but also takes an interest in Eddie and ends up befriending him and the entire Huang family, according to the Latino Post.
