Director Grace Lee has been honored with a prestigious Peabody Award for her documentary, American Revolutionary: The Story of Grace Lee Boggs.

“I’m so honored on behalf of everyone who worked on this film to be recognized by the Peabody Awards,” the Korean American filmmaker said in a statement through the Center for Asian American Media. “For me it means more people might be exposed to this story about the visionary life and ideas of Grace Lee Boggs.”

Boggs is described as a Chinese American philosopher, writer and activist who devoted 75 years to the labor, civil rights, and black power movements. She is currently 98 and staying in a hospice home in Michigan.

Lee’s next film will air on PBS this year. Off the Menu: Asian America explores the Asian American community’s relationship to food across the United States.
