The death toll from the Nepal Quake has now topped 5,000.

Among the dead, at least four Americans, including two Asian Americans.

The fourth American confirmed dead is Vinh B Truong of California.

The Vietnamese American was in the Mt. Everest Base Camp and had been out on a hike, according to the Daily Mail.

Dozens of others Americans are missing in the Himalayas.

The other dead Americans have been identified as 61-year-old Tom Taplin, a documentary filmmaker, 33-year-old Google executive Dan Fredinburg and 28-year-old Dr Marisa Eve Girawong, a Thai American.

Members of the Nepal community in the US are closely monitoring the situation. Many held a candlelight vigil in New York Sunday night organized by Adhikaar, a local Napalese group.

Some of their members have not been able to contact their families and they have started hearing about deaths too. They came together with the local community to pray for the victims and their families and are organizing relief efforts to help the local residents in Nepal with food and tents.

One person said he was able to reach his grandparents in Nepal who survived,  but they are eating are only snacks. Many have lost homes and are sleeping on the street afraid of another aftershock. They are in need of tents which Adhikaar is planning to send by mobilizing volunteers in neighboring India. Volunteers will also help coordinate relief to affected areas in Nepal.
