SF Eater: Chinatown Institution Sam Wo to Return from Dead

Sam Wo The San Francisco Eater is reporting the famous Sam Wo Restaurant in San Francisco will make a comeback at a new location in July.

It will take over Anna’s Bakery on Clay.

Renovations are scheduled to begin in a few weeks. The new Sam Wo will include a bakery as well. It’s also retaining its late night hours and will be open from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sam Wo was loved by tourists and locals alike.

The San Francisco Chinatown late night dive was known for its good food and the world’s rudest waiter, Edsel Ford Fung.

You’ll recall Sam Wo was shut down in 2012 for unsanitary conditions by the city’s health department.
