ABC has ordered a full season of Fresh Off The Boat, reports Ad Week.
The Huangs will stay on Tuesday nights, but in a new time period. It will air at 8:30 p.m./7:30 Central right after the reincarnation of The Muppets, which ABC says will satirize mockumentaries like The Office and Modern Family.
“This is not your grandmother’s Muppets, this is not the old Muppets,” said network entertainment chief Paul Lee.
Fresh Off the Boat will be followed by two other shows with Asians actresses playing key roles. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which features Ming Na and Chloe Bennett stays at its regular 9 pm. Quantico debuts at 10 pm and stars Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra as an FBI agent suspected in a terrorist plot. Its will be her first starring vehicle in the U.S.
At midseason, Fresh Off the Boat moves back to its 8pm Tuesday time slot followed by the new family comedy, The Real O’Neals.
The line up was announced at ABC’s upfront in Hollywood. Stars Randall Park and Constance Wu both made an appearance.
