The Vietnamese American man who co-founded the social media analytics firm Klout hopes to use his success and influence to inspire young members of his community, reports TuoiTreNews.
Binh Tran founded Klout in 2008 with Joe Fernandez. The company uses analytics to give scores of 1 to 100 to measure a person’s influence on social media. The company was recently acquired by Lithium Technologies for $200 million.
His next project is to open up a chain of Mediterranean restaurants across the country.
Tran is also working to launch a $10 million dollar program to provide counseling and assistance to young Vietnamese Americans.
“I wish to connect the successful young Americans of Vietnamese origin with their peers at home. As technology is getting much cheaper now, launching a fruitful start-up just requires two young people to look toward the same direction, being single-minded in their innovative plans, benefiting from predecessors’ assistance, and learning from their experience,” he said.
