Pao filed a notice of appeal at the state court in San Francisco on Monday.
Her decision to fight on comes despite an offer from Kleiner Perkins to drop its demand to Pao for one million dollars in legal fees.
The firm says it remains “committed to gender diversity in the workplace and believe(s) that women in technology would be best served by focusing on this issue outside of continued litigation.”
Neither Pao or her attorney made a comment about their latest action, but Pao has previosly said she “did not plan on becoming a symbol” when she sued.
She is current interim chief executive of the website Reddit.
