Court papers filed Friday in San Francisco reveal that Ellen Pao is demanding Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers pay her $2.7 million not to file an appeal of her sex discrimination case, reports the Mercury News.

The high tech venture capitalist firm which beat the original complaint against it says it has no intention of paying and called the demand “unreasonable.”

One legal analyst says the demand in no way undermines the sincerity of Pao’s original effort to fight gender discrimination.

Another said it might be worth it for Kleiner to pay the settlement to make the whole case go away.

Earlier, Kleiner had offered to drop its demand to collect $1 million in legal fees from Pao if she agreed to drop the case.

You can read what analysts are saying about that demand in the Mercury News.
