Police have identified a man they say is responsible for a series of attacks on Asian women in recent weeks in New York.

25-year old Tyrelle Shaw is accused of striking the women with a hard object wrapped in a paper bag, reports WABC.

Shaw was identified through an anonymous tip line set up by the New York Police.

Shaw has apparently blogged about the attacks and threatened to commit suicide.

One of his victims said he complained about Asian women not talking to him or giving them their phone numbers.

Another said he held up a message on his cell phone written in Chinese threatening to rape her.

There is a $2,500 dollar reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
