47-year-old actor Vin Diesel, one of the main protagonists of the film series, uploaded a photo of him and Lin on his Instagram feed.
Prior to the post, there were rumors Universal Pictures was considering hiring Lin, who directed four of the seven Furious films, as this sequel will be critical especially after Paul Walker’s death.
Many of the former cast has already been confirmed and rumors of former actors in the previous films returning are also strong.
Fast and Furious 8 is set to premiere in April 2017.
