NY Times: Judge Sentences Last Motorcyclist in Alexian Lien Beating to Minimum Sentence

motorcycle chaseA weeping motorcyclist described by prosecutors as the “most vicious” of the bikers who beat Alexian Lien received the minimum sentence from a New York state judge, reports the New York Times.

Robert Sims received three and a half years in prison following a tearful apology.

I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” Sims said. “I never intended to hurt anybody. I folded under pressure, under emotion and I’m sorry. Six seconds of losing my composure. I’ll never be able to finish repaying that.”

According to the NY Daily News, the  prosecution had asked for a sentence of eight years.

“Bitch, you’re going to get it too,” prosecutor Joshua Steinglass quoted Sims as telling Rosalyn Ng, Lien’s wife who was in the SUV with him along with the couple’s two-year old daughter.

You can read Justice Maxwell Wiley’s comments about Sims in the New York Times.

  1. RE: Judge sentences last motorcyclist in Alexis Lien beating: Rosalyn Ng throws out a water bottle at motorcyclists. This could have caused a fatality. Due to the circumstances of 29th September 2013 there could have been multiple fatalities. I urge New York Police to arrest Rosalyn Ng in the name of public safety.
