San Francisco Police are investigating a rash of racist graffiti that has been spray painted throughout the Portola Neighborhood of San Francisco, reports ABC7.
The message of “no more Chinese” spread quickly.
Those outraged by the incidents have been posting pictures of the graffiti on social media.
The public works department moved quickly to remove the graffiti which appears to have been done by the same person
The middle class neighborhood has become predominantly Chinese and some speculate the vandal may feel as if he or she is being squeezed out.
Some crossed out the word “no” transforming the message to something more positive. One even replaced the “no” with a heart.
“That was amazing. The message has totally changed, love more Chinese, or love everyone in the neighborhood,” said Tommy Luk who reported the vandalism to police.
