Nearly $20,000 has been raised for an Asian American woman slit across the throat, tied up and left for dead during a robbery.
Mai Tran told KPRC that she returned to her Houston home to find a man inside.
The man took her to an ATM, but she could not remember the pin. The two returned to Tran’s home where Tran says she was tied up while he ransacked the home and stole her valuables including her Cadillac. Before he left, Tran said he beat her viciously, slashing her across the throat.
She managed to get the help of a neighbor who called 911. When police arrive, she wrote a note in her own blood to her family.
“I wrote: ‘I love my husband. I love my son. I don’t want to die,’”
Tran spent nine days in the hospital before being released. If you’d like to help with her mounting medical bills, you can contribute to her Go Fund Me campaign.
