There’s been a lot of buzz among fans of Heroes about the return of Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura in the show’s reincarnation, Heroes Reborn , premiering this Thursday on NBC.
Many new characters will also be introduced including Kiki Sukezane as Miko Otomo, a swordswoman, who has been described as unlike anything you’ve ever seen on the show.
“She’s basically tracking down her missing father, while hiding the extraordinary secret that makes her a force to be reckoned with,” said Sukezane.
Sukezane orginally came to the U.S. as a foreign exchange student in South Dakota while in high school. She returned to Japan and eventually began to pursue acting. She eventually moved to Los Angeles.
Heroes was a big hit in Japan and Sukezane says she knows the series well.
“My favorite is Masi, of course. Masi Oka – Hiro Nakamura, because I was a fan of Hiro Nakamura when I was in high school, so this is like my dream come true! It’s unbelievable,” she said.

Heroes Reborn kicks off with a two hour episode beginning at 8/7C on Thursday.
Not all characters appear in every episode so its not guaranteed Sukezane or Oka will appear.
