The San Francisco Chinatown late night restaurant known for having the world’s rudest waiter has reopened for the first time since being closed for health violations in 2012. It reopened in a new location at 713 Clay not far from its original location on Washington.

Hoodline reports it didn’t take long for fans to ask the restaurant to hire another rude waiter to replace the late Edsel Ford Fong.

Assmeblymember David Chiu gave some remarks and then expressed hopes there would be someone to treat customers as rudely as Edsel did.

Gordon Chin, former executive director of the Chinatown Community Development Center, hinted he would be available when he said he was just there to apply for a job on the night shift.

Police Captain David Lazar, however, cautioned, “Please don’t throw the fork at me like Edsel used to do. I want to come and order jook.”

The new Sam Wo is still run by the original owners, the Ho family, with the help of some new business partners.

They announced they’ll regularly put on a show, A Night With Edsel with comedian Chuck Howe Gee.

“After an absence of several years, I guess you all need to be insulted, and I’m the guy to do it,” Gee said. “I’ll put you all in your place. I look forward to insulting you and I hope you look forward to being insulted.”
