Jeremy Lin may be an NBA star making millions of dollars, but it hasn’t made him immune to bullying.
As a young child on the basketball court, Lin has had his share of taunts. Many of them were racially motivated.
Lin shared his story in a video on behalf of the #Acttochange anti-bullying campaign by the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
Once the taunts nearly put Lin over the edge. His coach pulled him aside and told him his opponents were just looking for a way to get under his skin.
He needed to find a way to channel that negative energy into a positive.
Lin is a prime example of how Asian Americans can overcome bullying and go on to show the world all that they have to offer.
