Chinese megastar LiBingbing will both star in and produce the new superhero movie Realm with Stan Lee Global Entertainment and Chinese producer/distributor Fundamental Films, reports Variety.
“What a kick it has been to create our first Chinese female superhero, and an empowering one at that,” said Lee. “It has been such a fun experience bringing to life an international woman character, and the ability to do so has been different from anything we’ve ever done! I am thoroughly enjoying every minute of it.”
Bingbing has starred in numerous TV and movie projects out of China since 1994 and has received numerous film awards. Most recently, she has expanded her reach into the United States where she has appeared in Transformers: Age of Extinction and Resident Evil: Retribution.
No announcement has been made about a scheduled release date.
