Police arrested a California man Saturday for a fire at a mosque in Coachella in Southern California, reports CNN.

Carl James Dial Jr., 23, is being held on $150,000 bail on suspicion of arson, a hate crime and felony burglary.

About five people were praying inside the  Islamic Society of Coachella Valley when the fire broke out Friday.

No injuries were reported.

It is strongly suspected the fire is connected to the terrorist rampage in San Bernardino County that left 14 people dead and 21 injured.

In North Carolina, plans for Winston Salem Hindu Temple in Clemmons are moving forward despite an incident over the summer when 60 shotgun blasts were fired into a sign on the site.

Structural plans for the temple on the 7.6 acre property will be submitted soon with actual construction scheduled to begin in the spring.

Rajan Zed, President of Universal Society of Hinduism, said the temple sign shooting incident was shocking. He commended the spirit of the Hindu community for moving forward.
