Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will be in California this week to launch Asian Americans Pacific Islanders for Hillary, reports Inside Bay Area.
The Democrat will be in San Gabriel alongside Rep Judy Chu (D-CA), the chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.
A statement released by the campaign said “Clinton will discuss what’s at stake in this election for the AAPI community, and how she’ll fight for them as president.”
In June, the candidate announced that Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan had joined her campaign to do voter outreach.
Clinton is the front runner in the democratic race, but a Gallop Poll released just last month indicated that Bernie Sanders had strong support from Asian Americans. Clinton’s favorable score while high among AAPIs still trailed Sanders by six percentage points.
