Raymond ‘Shrimp Boy’ Chow is out to resurrect his image following his conviction January 8 for 162 counts of racketeering and murder.

He granted an exclusive interview to Amber Lee of KTVU during which he acknowledge his past might scare people.

“It’s very scary for the jury to listen to my past and I’m very honest …telling everything exactly the way it is. No bull—-, no lie. Just tell them the way I am,” he said. “Yeah …people shot at me. I shot at people…that’s pretty normal to me.”

Chow served time for drugs, prostitution and money laundering, but says he turned his life around after being released from prison in 2003. He spoke to troubled youth, advising them to stay away from a life of crime. The remaking of his image worked, with many prominent San Francisco Bay Area politicians appearing with him, even taking pictures with Chow.

Can he remake his image again? It doesn’t really matter if he is unable to overturn his conviction. Being convicted on all 162 counts was a slam dunk for the prosecution.

Nonetheless, he is confident his appeal will succeed.

“I feel good about myself. I feel good to be a changed man. I know I can do a lot more. My life is not going to end up like this,” said Chow.

Sentencing is set for March 23.

You can hear Chow’s thoughts on his murder conviction and his time testifying on the stand in the video clip below from KTVU.
