Three inmates who escaped the Orange County Jail a week ago are now back in custody, reports KABC
Two of the men were captured in San Francisco Saturday after a witness alerted police he had spotted a van near Golden Gate Park that matched the description of the escapees’ vehicle.
Police soon spotted Hossein Nayeri, 37, who was captured after a chase on foot.
A little later authorities discovered the van parked nearby and they arrested Jonathan Tieu, 20, who was hiding inside.
.380 ACP ammunition rounds were also found inside the van, but a weapon was not recovered.
On Friday, the third suspect, Bac Duong, 43, turned himself in.
Authorities say the men escaped by cutting through steel bars, going through a plumbing tunnel and then rappelling down the side of the jail.
All three men were awaiting trial for violent crimes and were known to have ties to Vietnamese gangs.
Authorities say the men received help with their escape from an accomplice who had a romantic relationship with one of the men.
