Kal Penn and Maggie Q are both returning to prime time television.
The two will join the upcoming ABC series, Designated Survivor, starring Keifer Sutherland, according to the Tech Times.
In Designated Survivor, Sutherland plays a low level cabinet member who becomes the President of the United States after a huge catastrophe during the State of the Union wipes out all the high ranking officials.
Penn will play a speech writer in the White House. The former star of the short lived series Battle Creek worked in the White House twice in real life in President Obama’s Office of Public Engagement.
Q, whose mother is Vietnamese and father is Irish, Polish and French, will play an FBI agent investigating the State of the Union attack. She is best known for her role in Nikita and most recently Stalker.
