New York Post: Nike dumps Manny Pacquiao for Homophobic Statements

The physics of boxing: for every blow, there’s an equal and opposite blow

Soon-to-retire boxer Manny Pacquiao received a blow from Nike for homophobic statements he made this week.

Nike, the apparel company that created a special logo for Pacquiao, ended its more than eight-year endorsement deal with the boxer, says the New York Post.

“We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent,” Nike said in a statement. “Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community.”
