It takes a virtual village to bring people together.
That’s the thinking of Felix Sablan who is developing an app to go with his website Islander Elevation to bring resources and a sense of community to Pacific Islanders in the United States, reports the Pacific Daily News.
“The big picture is to have one Pacific Voice out here in the U.S.,” said Sablan. “Our islands can’t do much about what’s happening out here without a voice in congress. What we could do since we are 1.2 million strong, is we can unify our voices, unify our causes together and vote, because we can.”
His site includes information on Pacific Islander businesses, employment and education.
Sablan hopes to release his app by the end of this month.
