Indian American actress Punam Patel has been cast in a new show from the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, reports India West.
Toast is an upcoming comedy on ABC that will feature Patel as a series regular who definitely says more than she should.
The show evolves around an engaged couple and the various toasts their friends give at their wedding rehearsal dinner. Each toast involves a flash back where viewers learn the truth or lack of behind the toasts.
Patel has been part of Chicago’s famed Second City Comedy theatre and more recently played Patti on ABC Family’s Kevin at Work. She was also co-creator of her own web series, Chai Chat.
Toast will be produced by Shonda Rhimes who is better known for her hit dramas such as Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.
