Jeremy Lin Could Roll to 6th Man of the Year Award

Jeremy Lin celebrates with teammates

Jeremy Lin is on one of his streaks.

One day after scoring 29 points to lead a comeback victory over the San Antonio Spurs, Lin did it again. This time with a 21 point game against the Brooklyn Nets, helping the Hornets win 105 – 100

Lin has been mentioned all season as an NBA Sixth Man of the Year award candidate.

He had fallen from contention after the All Star break, but seems to be back in the mix.

The post season won’t factor into that award, but it would be great if Lin could continue his streak into the playoffs and add to his legacy.

Charlotte currently holds the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 41 – 30 record and is 3 1/2 games up over seventh seed Indiana. Just 11 games remain in the season.

Lin stayed out of the Carmelo Anthony – Amare’ Stoudemire controversy. Stoudemire recently said that not all the Knicks were happy to see the rise of Linsanity during the 2011 -2012 season. Many saw that as a shot at Anthony, but Stoudemire denied it.

Lin would only say this before the Nets game.

“I can’t speak on behalf of somebody else talking about somebody else,” Lin told the Daily News. “When you talk about journalism or being a professional or whatever, that’s not really what I like to do. I don’t like to guess or assume or predict or whatever. So I’m just going to stay out of it.

Lin remains in a class by himself.
