A Chinese tourist from Britain stabbed in the head one month ago during a robbery near San Francisco’s Japantown has died.

If you haven’t seen it, the video of the attack is freaking scary.

Paul Tam was just 48.

Tam was from Manchester, England and worked in IT. He was in the middle of planning a move to the U.S.

It’s a tremendous loss of a man hoping to start a new life in America.

As you can see from the video, Paul ran into the street in front of oncoming traffic hoping to thwart the attack. But the suspect chased him and then stabbed him into the head.

The attacker along with a female accomplice ran away with a bicycle bag that had his money, ID, passport and smartphone in it.

Tam died in the hospital where he has been since the attack.

The description of the suspects are unfortunately vague. The male is in his 30s or 40s, and around 5-foot 10-inches. The woman is in her 20s, and approximately 5-foot 4-inches. She has braided hair.

This is not the kind of publicity that Japantown needs, one of just three left in the United States.

It also hurts a city which thrives on tourism.

This is not the first foreign tourist killed in San Francisco. A German tourist in 2010 was killed when she was caught in the crossfire between two groups during an altercation in Union Square, the heart of Downtown San Francisco.

That incident received much attention around the world.

Tam’s death is now being treated as a homicide.
