A teenager who escaped a group home and raped a woman in New York’s Chinatown has been sentenced to 15 years in prison, reports the New York Times.
Emanuel Burrowes, 17, had previously pleaded guilty to rape, robbery and burglary in the case.
Burrowes escaped a home with two other boys who have also admitted raping the woman on June 1 in an apartment stairwell.
The case brought attention to the home and it was later learned an employee there doctored the log books to make it appear the boys were checked every 30 minutes.
That home has since been closed and its employees face criminal charges.
