ABC7: San Francisco Extends Aloha Spirit to Hawaiian Teen Recovering from Brain Surgery

An Hawaiian teen who spent the last month recovering from brain surgery at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, California has been honored by San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee.

ABC7 News reported in April that his family’s car was broken into at Fisherman’s Wharf and all his medical records and other valuable items were stolen.

14-year old Kaikea Ahuna received a certificate of honor and Golden State Warrior hat from Lee. He also got to try on Mayor’s Warrior’s championship ring.

The San Francisco Tech Democrats and San Francisco Police Officer’s Association rallied support for Ahuna. Many San Franciscans sent cards and donations to replace the stolen items.
