NY Times: Father of Fallen Muslim American Soldier Fires Back at Trump

Khizr Khan had no idea his speech at the Democratic Convention would attract so much attention.

He is scheduled to appear on several Sunday morning news talk shows after his emotional speech honoring his son who died in Iraq fighting for America.

His accusations that Donald Trump has not read the constitution and has never made a sacrifice resonated with the thousands of delegates at the convention and drew a sharp rebuke from Trump himself.

“If you look at his wife, she was standing there, she had nothing to say, she probably — maybe she wasn’t allowed to have anything to say, you tell me,” Trump said to the New York Times.

Trump also reiterated his call from banning Muslims from entering the United States.

Khan immediately fired back, saying Trump “is devoid of feeling the pain of a mother who has sacrificed her son.”

“Trump is totally void of any decency because he is unaware of how to talk to a Gold Star family and how to speak to a Gold Star mother,” Mr. Khan said on Saturday.

Later, Trump backtracked from his remarks calling Khan’s son “a hero.”

“While I feel deeply for the loss of his son, Mr. Khan, who has never met me, has no right to stand in front of millions of people and claim I have never read the Constitution, (which is false) and say many other inaccurate things.”
