Get ready to be blown away.

Korean American singer Annale released her debut single Roses in July and slowly made her way up the R&B charts.

It’s currently hovering around the top 20 now sitting at 21 after landing the 19th spot on October 1.

Annale was born in New York and raised in South Korea.  She now lives in Los Angeles.

Interestingly, her parents both encouraged and discouraged her pursuit of music.

“Music was definitely always a part of my life growing up because of my parents who are both classical musicians, but I didn’t get seriously into singing until high school,” she told Axs. Growing up, my parents and teachers saw my talent in music whether it was piano, violin, music theory or vocals and it’s what I enjoyed the most.

Music, she says, came naturally for her and she knew it was something she wanted to do. Her parents, however, thought otherwise.

“When I was applying for college, my parents actually didn’t want me to go into music because they knew all about the hard musician life and didn’t want me to go through what they went through. But when I received a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music, I thought maybe God is telling me to do this and I’m meant to do it so why not just go for it.”

Anale’s debut album will be released soon, although no date has been announced. There will be a total of 10 songs including two which will be Korean versions of two tracks. She says fans can expect more pop elements, R&B/ballad, R&B/Funk and even an intimate/acoustic song.

“My Korean background definitely plays a role because I also wanna cater to my Korean fans,” Annale’ said to Singersroom. “I would say some of the tracks on my album has some pop elements to it that Koreans would love.”
