A Vietnamese American fisherman is presumed dead after his boat capsized off La Jolla Beach near San Diego.

Rescuers have ended their dawn to dusk search and say it will not continue unless there are new unexpected developments.

Tony Nguyen was fishing with four other men for lobsters when their boat capsized.

The four others were wearing life jackets and rescued.

Authorities say Nguyen had not put on his life vest.

The men said they were blindsided by a big wave. They were treated at the hospital for minor trauma.

Nguyen is a father of four.
