An immigrant rights group is offering counseling to residents in the wake of anti-Chinese flyers seen in Vancouver, British Columbia area.
CKNW reports the flyers, which urge people to join the alt-right, read Step Aside Whitey. The Chinese Are Taking Over.
“The sentiment in divisive flyers, as well as some other racial remarks, are totally inappropriate,” said SUCCESS CEO Queenie Choo. “SUCCESS is willing to extend the help to those people who need help through our counseling services or our Chinese helpline,” she says.
A silent protest organized by local residents took place yesterday to celebrate diversity and to emphasize all residents contribute to the community.
Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie has condemned the flyers saying they must be dealt with seriously and that residents must make clear the flyers don’t represent the sentiments of the community.
