A car speeding up Stockton Street careened into a parked car and slammed into a bus shelter near Clay Street.
Ten people were injured, five seriously. Two are listed in critical condition.
“There were a lot of individuals on the ground,” San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin told the San Francisco Chronicle. “Many were bleeding. Pretty horrific scene.”
Tom Lao told ABC7 News the car was coming right toward him and thought for sure he was about to be hit.
“I saw the car coming and I said that’s it, the end of my day; then I got lucky she slammed right into the pole,” said Lao.
The driver of the Toyota Camry that slammed into the bus stop remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. She was treated for minor injuries.
