A season marred by injuries has left Jeremy Lin speechless.

The Brooklyn Nets starting point guard went out in the first quarter of the Nets games against the Dallas Mavericks Sunday with an ankle sprain.

He left the Barclay Center in Brooklyn without speaking to the media. The usually talkative Lin has also been silent on social media, not commenting on his injury on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.

Lin has missed 44 games so far this season with multiple hamstring sprains in what otherwise would have been a career year for the 28-year-old Harvard grad.

He’s averaged 13.7 points per game, the second highest in his career after the 14.6 points he averaged during the Linsanity year with the Knicks in the 2011-2012 season. This season he’s had career highs in field goal percentage (45%), three point shooting (37.5%), and defensive rebounds (3 per game).

The New York Post reports Lin left the arena with a slight limp and without the help of crutches. A teammate described Lin as in good spirits.

He was seen on the sidelines after his sprain exercising on a bicycle with a team hoodie over his head.

No announcement has been made yet about Lin’s status. The Nets have the worst record in the NBA and it’s unlikely he will be rushed back before he is ready.

The next scheduled game is against the Detroit Pistons tomorrow night.
