Four Indian Americans Named Among 40 Under 40 Leaders in Healthcare

National Minority Quality Forum“40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health” were recently named by the National Minority Quality Forum and four Indian American physicians were among the award recipients.

According to India West, the winners were selected by the Forum out of hundreds of applications received from healthcare professionals across the United States.

Four Indian Americans named among what the Forum called the “next generation of thought leaders in reducing health disparities” were Jay D. Bhatt, Sachin H. Jain, Meena Singh and Vin Gupta,.

Bhatt is both the chief medical officer of the American Hospital Association in Chicago, IL, and the president and chief executive at Chicago-based Health Research and Educational Trust. Additionally, he serves as a staff physician at the Erie Family Health Center.

Jain is the president and chief executive of CareMore Health System in Los Angeles, a consulting professor of medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine and a senior institute associate at Harvard Business School. He is also the co-founder and co-editor-in-chief of Healthcare: the Journal of Delivery Science and Innovation and a contributor to Forbes.

Singh is a dermatologic surgeon at the KMC Hair Center Kansas Medical Clinic in Kansas City, and formerly a dermatology resident at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

Gupta is a pulmonary and critical care physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA, as well as a commissioned captain in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps.

On April 25, all 40 named recipients will be honored at the National Minority Quality Forum Leadership Summit on Health Disparities and Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust gala dinner in Washington, D.C.
