Asian Passenger Forcibly Removed from United Flight

United Passenger forcibly removedBet you didn’t know this could happen to you someday.

An Asian passenger aboard a United flight at Chicago O’Hare Airport was forcibly removed from a plane that had been overbooked.

According to CNBC, passengers had been asked prior to booking to voluntarily take a later flight.

Apparently not enough volunteers came forward, so the Asian man was randomly picked to be removed, after he had already boarded.

When he refused to cooperate, several security guards forcibly removed him.

He was eventually let back on the flight, but appeared visibly dazed after the incident as you’ll see in this brief clip.

The video was posted on Facebook by a fellow passenger who urged others to share the post.

The flight which was bound for Louisville was delayed two hours.

“Everyone was shocked and appalled,” said Audra Bridges, the woman who posted the video, said to the Courier Journal. “There were several children on the flight as well that were very upset.”

“Flight 3411 from Chicago to Louisville was overbooked,” a United spokesperson said. “After our team looked for volunteers, one customer refused to leave the aircraft voluntarily and law enforcement was asked to come to the gate.

“We apologize for the overbook situation. Further details on the removed customer should be directed to authorities.”

According to CNBC, an airline in overbooking situations can randomly choose passengers and ask them to leave the flight. CNBC says United was trying to get onto the flight some of its own employees who were trying to get to their assignments.

  1. RE: Asian passenger forcilby removed from United flight: Per Tyler Bridges, another passenger on this United Flight:
“‘He was kind of saying that he was being singled out because he’s a Chinese man’ when speaking to the manager, who was African American, Bridges said. ‘You should know what this is like,’ the man said, according to Bridges.”

  2. RE: Asian passenger forcibly removed from United Flight: Evidently the Asian guy had issues lol. His credibility went down a bit.

  3. RE: Asian Passenger forcibly removed from United Flight: So? How is his background relevant to how they treated him?

  4. RE: Asian Passenger Forcibly Removed from United Flight: The victim’s personal history should have nothing to do with the credibility of being the victim in this case. He was seated and was not being disruptive other than not willing to be volunteered to give up the seat he had paid for. I think the airport port security used excess force , and I also question the COMPUTER bumping selection process. I do not think United had used a computer process to select who to bump.. I think it is up to the United manager at the gate to decide who to bump. She/he was also the one decided to call in the security.
