The owner of two dogs burned by a billionaire hotel owner is outraged after Vikram Chatwal received five days community service in a plea deal, reports Page Six.
Chatwal was also ordered not to own a dog for five years, to undergo drug and psychological treatment and pay over $1,000 in restitution to the ASPCA, according to details of the deal in the New York Daily News.
“I’m absolutely appalled,” Sean Kelly said. “This has to do with the fact he’s rich. “It’s absolutely disgusting and outrageous that somebody can attack two animals and a woman innocently walking on the streets of New York and not get a significant judgment against him.”
Chatwal founded the Dream Hotel Group. He tried to torch the Jack Russell terriers in October. According to India West, Chatwal recently split with his wife Priya Sachdev who recently married Sanjuy Kapur, ex-husband of Bollywood actress Karishma Kapoor.
