A Muslim American flight attendant is suing American Airlines after accusing co-workers of calling him a terrorist.
NJ.com reports Pakistani American Farkhan Mahmood Shah alleges the airline failed to stop the religious and ethnic harassment despite first reporting it in 2008.
Shah said he began noticing erroneous reports of tardiness and missed work after he filed his complaint. In 2013, the complaint alleges the airline’s human resources department in New York promised to erase the errors, but that never happened.
The airline says its looking into the complain.

“American does not tolerate discrimination of any kind,” said Matt Miller, an American Airline spokesperson.
Shah has worked for American since 1999, but the work climate changed after 9/11. He said he’s even been accused of being a member of the Taliban or Hezbollah.
Shah said the FBI showed up at his home after the airline put him on a watch list in 2014. He said agents showed up again in 2016 to ask if he planned to hurt anyone after he filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
