Woman’s Shocking Anti-Indian Rant in a New Jersey Store: “Send them BACK!”

Yes it does.jpg

In the wake of a tumultuous election period and an increasingly-polarizing U.S., one can only hope that love wins out over hate and that people treat other people like equals. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case in a Sears department store in New Jersey as a woman spewed hate at a Latino family and an Indian cashier.

“Indians waiting on Indians!” She started out, eventually ending with the skin-crawling statement, “send them back to their own country!”

According to IndiaWest’s report, the woman wrongly assumed that the Latino family was Indian, and that, as a result, they were receiving some sort of “superior” treatment from the Indian employee assisting them. When somebody attempted to correct her, the woman cried out, “I don’t know what the (expletive) they are!”

Luke Nozicka from NJ.com states that the man who videotaped this incident believed that store employees should have escorted this woman out. And just who is the man who took this video? According to NDTV, this man is none other than Simoni Lovano (alternately spelled Lu Vanu on his YouTube account), a 27-year old whose family moved from Sicily when he was only a few years old.

At the end of it all, the incident is a sobering reminder to treat others like human beings, and to stand up to injustice whenever you see it.
