She told Screen Rant that the strength of the series diversity is important.

“I love how diverse our cast is and our guest cast is amazing too,” she said. “I can’t wait for you guys to meet them because we have our own amazing guest stars. It’s a really diverse cast.”

According to Comicbook.com, Ken Leung (Karnak) and Mike Moh (Triton) are Asian American.

Moh owns Moh’s Martial Arts in Waunakee, Wisconsin. In 2005, he sent in a demo reel of his martial arts skills to the casting directors of the Jackie Chan flick Rob-B-Hood and landed a part as an extra.

“I submitted a tape, and like a week later I was in Hong Kong for two weeks working with Jackie Chan — who was my idol growing up,” Moh told Wisc News.

Moh can also be seen in the Fox series Empire as Steve Cho.

“One day I’m at a table read (of a new script) in Chicago, sitting across the table from Demi Moore and all these A-list stars, trying to do my best and stay quiet,” said Moh.  And the next day I’m here, teaching kids in a town of 12,000. It’s kind of a cool double life I have.”

Ken Leung is a veteran of theatre. He appeared in Thoroughly Modern Millie as Ching Ho and the Off-Broadway play Corpus Christi.

He told Screen Rant the challenge for him is to create his own world while being true to the comics.

“There’s a fine line there too because we are not strictly basing these characters on the comics. We are creating our own world but however, knowing that it exists, obviously I read them and kind of still do and I reference them from time to time just for a germ of something. So, for my part, I’d say the Karnak comics.”
