PBS has greenlighted a limited series to be hosted by Ann Curry, reports RealScreen.

It will be Curry’s first return to national television since leaving NBC.

We’ll Meet Again will be produced by Curry’s own media venture and Blink Films.

The series will feature people who’s lives cross paths during pivotal moments in U.S. history.

“This is history not the from point of view of people in charge. It is the point of view of people who have no control over these events and have to rise up to survive,” Curry said to Variety which broke this story.

“We are in a time when people actually need to hear these stories of empathy,” she said. “We have forgotten some of this good stuff. What we find are the similarities, and they speak to the similarities in our human family.”

The show seems a perfect fit for Curry who is known for connecting with the people she interviews.

The six part program will include a feature on a Japanese American woman in search of a classmate who helped her at the start of World War II. That girl was bullied during the war, but her classmate befriended her. We’ll Meet Again is set to debut next year.
